University Application Essays

Are you applying for an MBA, or other competitive program that requires a variety of personal essays as part of the application process?

These essays vary in length from 300-2000 words and cover subjects such as:

  • Who do you admire most?
  • Tell us about your academic and professional achievements.
  • What interests do you pursue in your free time?
  • What are you short-term and long-term professional goals?
  • What led you to pursue our program at this point in your life?
  • What has been your biggest challenge? What are you most proud of?
  • What skills and traits will you bring to the program that will benefit the other students?

For someone who isn’t a practiced writer, this process can feel overwhelming and time-consuming?

These essays could make or break your application.

How can I help?

I can provide a solid draft of an essay based on first-hand information from you. Or I can take your draft and edit it to perfection. The process can be as collaborative as you want. They are your essays and the final version should be representative of your experiences, views, and skills.

What is required from you?

We will need to sit down, or have a conversation via Skype or phone, to discuss the questions.

I will need a few weeks notice as there is a bit of back and forth with this type of project. Contact me well before the deadline date.

Is it wrong to hire someone to help me write these essays?

No. As I mentioned above, I will write a draft or edit your draft. You are still responsible for making sure the facts are accurate and that it best represents your achievements and goals. I am making sure the text flows, the questions are answered in the best possible way, and the grammar is correct. It is a collaborative project.

The personal essay is one of my favourite forms to write and edit. It is one of the few chances in life you get to ‘toot your own horn’ and let other’s know what is important to you, and about you.
